Mike Smith has been drumming for 25 years and is a founding member of New York Death metal pioneers “Suffocation.” Mikes drumming was first introduced to the Extreme metal scene in 1989 on Suffocation’s debut album “Effigy of the forgotten.” On this album he introduced a drumming technique now known throughout the metal community as the “Blast Beat” or “Smith Blast.” This technique is a main ingredient used in the drumming styles amongst the majority of Extreme metal bands today.
His ability to push the boundaries of speed, while combining precision, groove and technicality has influenced a sub genre known today as Technical Death metal. What Mike Smith and his band Suffocation introduced to the scene was the first of its kind and continues to influence the path of many Extreme metal bands across the world today. You can currently catch Mike Smith on tour throughout the U.S. and Europe. Upcoming dates are available on the following websites: www.Suffocation.us, | www.myspace.com/Suffocation | www.Blastology.net and www.sickdrummer.com.

I started playing drums when I was 7 years old. Bands like Iron Maiden, Rush, Slayer, Megadeth and such influenced my earlier playing. As I got older I discovered the death metal genre. I was totally blown away with the speed element. I had never heard anything quite that fast and brutal. Bands like Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Gorguts, to name a few really inspired the speed element. But it was an album called “Human” by Death and an album called “Focus” by Cynic, that made me understand how to combine progressive into death metal.
One day a friend of mine lent me a CD called “Images and Words” by a band called Dream Theater. I had never heard of them so I gave it a listen. That changed my life. Seriously! I went out the next day and bought that CD and Awake which had just come out.

After being introduced to heavier music, he began to from local projects with friends. He shortly after moved on to play with Bay Area band Aenimus, Miami-based Metal Blade artists Abiotic, and finally Rings of Saturn. Aaron also plays with industrial rock band Wes Cage, as well as metal band Interloper.

Evan is the relentless drummer for the Ohio based grindcore band, Drogheda (est. 1992). He was recruited for the band in 2009 for his belligerent, yet calculated style of playing. This ferocious and insanely speedy genre of music requires the rabid energy and stamina that Evan, a self-taught drummer, consistently delivers. Evan has been a devotee of the Axis brand from the inception of his drumming career. Axis pedals have the precision and speed that grindcore demands.
The band’s music is recorded exclusively at Evan’s home studio, Excrutiating Sound (Norton, Ohio). In addition to writing and recording, Evan’s current endeavors include planning Drogheda’s 2015 world tour and embarking on a career in the manufacture of drums.

Hector Torres (Drummer/Percussionist) was born in the musically diverse town of Tijuana, Mexico back in 1959. At a very early age, Hector learned that it was simply impossible to call one style of music his favorite. There was so much to hear and so much to learn. After making Los Angeles, California his new home at age six, he instantly began to explore new forms of expression using drums and or anything that sounded interesting by shaking or striking.
In constant search of a new sound and beat, Hector has been working for many years in numerous projects in a variety of styles from Jazz, R & B, Salsa, Rock, Punk, Armenian, Brazilian, Folk, Iranian, Pop, Cape-Verdean and for the past nine years he has being the percussionist for a L.A. based contemporary modern dance company. Hector has toured Europe and America many times and will continue to do so always on that quest for that new beat.
Claude Hudson “Butch” Trucks is one of the founding members of The Allman Brothers Band.
One of Trucks’ first bands was local Jacksonville band The Vikings, who made one 7-inch record in 1964. Another early band was The 31st of February which formed and broke up in 1968. This group’s lineup eventually included both Duane Allman and Gregg Allman. They recorded a cover of “Morning Dew”, by 1960s folk singer Bonnie Dobson.
Trucks then helped form The Allman Brothers Band in 1969, along with Duane Allman (guitar), Gregg Allman (vocals and organ), Dickey Betts (guitar), Berry Oakley (bass), and fellow drummer Jai Johanny Johanson.
Together, the two drummers developed a rhythmic drive that would prove crucial to the band. Trucks laid down a powerful conventional beat while the jazz-influenced Johanson added a second laminate of percussion and ad libitum cymbal flourishes, seamlessly melded into one syncopated sound.
Said founding member and co-lead guitarist Dickey Betts of Trucks’ addition to the original band lineup, “…When Butch came along, he had that freight train, meat-and-potatoes kind of thing that set Jaimoe up perfectly. He had the power thing we needed.”
Trucks continues to record and perform with the Allman Brothers Band today.

Over the years, Eddie has clocked up over 7,500 working gigs between The Rogues in Upstate New York, Boomer in Arizona and plays well over 200 live dates per year.

I’ve been surrounded by music my entire lIfe. My father was a musician so he turned on to bands like The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Beatles and Led Zeplin. When I was 13 my father bought me my first guitar and my brother his first drum set. Months later I realized that liked drums better and decide to pursue percussion. The first 2 years I was self taught , listening to a lot of records and CDs trying to duplicate the things I heard. After that I started to take drum lessons from Paul Riddle of the Marshall Tucker band for about year. And then I was introduced to heavy metal. Bands like Pantera and Metallica really opened my mind to a totally different style of playing.
Eventually I got into more extreme genres like death metal and black metal and that is where my heart has been ever since. In 2006 I decide to peruse music as a career. In 2008 I joined The Sign of the Southern Cross they were signed to Season Mist and had raleased their first full length, Of Mountains and Moonshine which was released in America and Europe. We supported that album for about two years, then went into the studio and record our EP, I Carry the Fire. which was also released in America and Europe. In 2013, Your Chance To Die approached me and ask if I wanted to try out for a full time position in the band. I accepted the position. I recorded a full length, we toured and shot a video in support of the new record The American Dream which was release by Red Cord Records.
